Setting

This site sits at -0.100, 127.500 in the Guraici Islands, the small archipelago between southwest Halmahera and Bacan in North Maluku.

Coral cover

No coral-cover value exists for this site, and the external record is a single transect: one survey submitted via MERMAID within 10 km, at a station called Sagawele 9.68 km away, which recorded 39% hard coral cover in 2024.

Stressors

Heat stress: five-year mean annual maximum of 5.1 degree-heating weeks (map satellite layer), the lowest of any Indonesian area in this set. No crown-of-thorns starfish (COTS) or other corallivores evident.
