🗺 Detailed map of the Global Reef Expedition dive sites, unnamed reefs 11-122, 11-096, and 11-091, northern Great Barrier Reef (Khaled bin Sultan Living Oceans Foundation; opens in a new window)
Global Reef Expedition station AU91112 on Unnamed Reef 11-091, far northern Great Barrier Reef (-11.3986, 143.9677), surveyed on 23 September 2014. The expedition's own site table classifies AU91112 as an outer barrier reef on an exposed aspect.
Alongside the hard coral already reported for this site, the same transects recorded 13% crustose coralline algae, 5.6% turf, 1.8% macroalgae, and 1.4% cyanobacteria. Non-living substrate came to 5.9% dead coral, 25% rubble, and 14% sand. These figures come from the expedition's own 933-site benthic master and are survey results, not photographic estimates.
Paired fish transects recorded about 37 fish species per transect and about 43 kg per 100 m2 of biomass.
