Site description
Setting
Crystal Rock is a seamount site in the north of Komodo National Park; this site places it at -8.430, 119.575, near Gili Lawa.
Coral cover
Cover status is explicitly recorded as not_collected: no survey or photographic data came off the 2009 dive, so there is no cover estimate and no imagery to derive one from.
Stressors
Heat stress: five-year mean annual maximum of 7.2 degree-heating weeks (map satellite layer). No crown-of-thorns starfish (COTS) or other corallivores evident.

Dive record
It was dived on 17 August 2009 - entry 10:45, maximum depth 27.1 m, 71 minutes bottom time, buddy Emma - and the 2009 log records it as one of the park's famous sites for fish abundance. The site record's own text also notes a later visit, dated 2019-01-21, on which Anderson did not dive because of illness; the two records are not in conflict, but only the 2009 dive is evidenced elsewhere in the data.
